Do your windows and doors seal well?
You can test the sealing of your windows and doors very simply. Put a sheet of paper bertween the window (or door) wing and its frame; if the paper can be easily removed, the quality of sealing is very poor.

For many years now we have been offering the complete service in the field of sealing windows and doors ? from profuction and supply of silicone seals to their fitting. For this reason we have established our network of contractors throughout Slovenia. The silicone seals for sealing wooden windows and doors are produced in white and brown colour, in dimensions F4 mm, F6 mm, F8 mm and F10 mm; other colours are available on demand (for ordering quantity exceeding 200 m).

The silicone seals, which are attached into a groove without gluing, are the most quality combination of technology and materials for renewed sealing of wooden windows and doors.

As for their properties the silicone seals surpass the seals made of other materials.

They are resistant to weather influences, ozone, sunrays, atmospheric pollution, light and ageing. The silicone seals are noted for their flexibility, dimensional and colour stability, their resistance to bending and compression; they adapt to all shapes and groove sizes. They are waterproof and seal all types of surfaces and are compatible with all construction materials. They are also noted for extremely long service life and are maintenance ? free.

In the temperature area from -60°C to +250°C they neither stick together, or harden and crack, but preserve all their properties (plastic and certain rubber seals namely harden at law temperatures).

WE BUILD IN

The seals that are built in without gluing have many advantages over the self-adhesive varieties. The self-adhesive seals are pretty non-resisting: they detach under the influence of moisture, weather and temperature changes and cleaning agents. Since self-adhesive seals generally may not be coloured or varnished, the maintenance of the door and windows is aggravated.

On the other hand the built-in seals are easily removed prior to the renovation of doors and windows (mark them previously) and after that simply attached back into the groove.
The fitting of silicone seals (preparation of grooves and attaching the seals) is quick, clean and dust-free but it is to be performed by a specialist.

The fitter can built in over 100 and more current meters of seals, which depends on the volume of additional jobs required to ensure a normal function of windows and doors (possible removal and fitting window and door wings, adjusting and replacement of damaged hinges, the quality of the built-in wooden components and hinges, type of wood and coating etc.).

The sealing of existing wooden windows and doors with the built-in silicone seals is a proper solution when replacement of windows and doors is not allowed or possible (cultural heritage protection, rental apartment, apartment in a block of flat etc.), for in this way energy consumption can be rationalised and comfort of living increase. The costs of investment, which pays off very soon, is negligible in comparison with the costs caused by replacement of windows and doors.

Our fitter will answer to all your questions related to the sealing procedure, either on the phone or by paying a visit at your home. He will help you estimate whether the windows and doors or hinges are too worn-out and require replacement. He will also recommend whether to seal all windows and doors (also the interior), or only the windows and doors in the heated rooms, or in the non-heated places with a large glazing surface.

WE ADVISE

We recommend ...
to regularly and sufficiently ventilate the room with well-sealed windows and doors to prevent discomfort, especially if a gas burner of a fireplace is in the room. On the walls of a non-ventilated but well-sealed room mildew could appear.

How to measure the size of a groove?
Put pieces of modellig clay on different spots between the window wing and frame, close the window and from the impression estimate the width of the groove. If a 3 mm groove is already made, we can send you a seal to built in by yourself. You can also order seals for a 4 and 5 mm groove. If you want to choose the right size of a seal, you should define the groove size for every single window and door. The suitable quantity of seals is the sum of circumference of all windows and doors you plan to seal.

During a heating season up to 40 kWh of energy can be lost with every meter of a non-sealed window and door. If you built in quality silicone seals you can save up to 20% in heating costs. Thus the investment turns profitable already after the first heating season.
